 Kerala Lifestyle
In Kerala, life is simple but fulfilling: Kerala is a land still relatively untouched by civilization. Because of its unique location, with the Western Ghats on one side and the Arabian Sea on the other side, this land has been somewhat isolated from the rest of the country and has evolved a unique lifestyle and culture. Kerala's handicrafts reflect this diversity. Kerala's traditional coir crafts have found eager offshore markets.
Culture And Tradition In A Fist
The beauty of a Malayali family lies in the way they live. They usually prefer to live together with their spouses and offspring in one homestead and under the authority of the eldest member. They are brought up in an ambiance of love since their childhood and hence they bestow the same, and sometimes even more, to all overlooking trivial constraints like caste, creed and colour. They begin their day by touching the feet of the elders and pray for universal happiness before going to bed. Even then, they spend their afternoons playing cricket and their evenings drinking toddy. Really, the string by which they hold their cultural values and social traditions is awe-inspiring. Remember to remove your shoes before entering a house, especially if that belongs to a brahmin. The mansions are not overwhelmingly decorated, but still inject a charm in the air. It is not surprising that it might belong to a millionaire. Simple, modest and cozy. That is the definition of their stay.
The people of Kerala form a well educated and mature society. Keralites are popularly called 'Malayalees' for the language they speak (Malayalam). The women mostly dress themselves in those wonderful six meters of silk / cotton called 'saree'. The men mostly attired to trousers and shirts like the rest of the world. However you should not be surprised if you find them dressed in the traditional 'Mundu' at home.

The Hindus account for nearly 60% of the population. The rest of the 40% is almost equally divided between the Christians and Muslims.

Malayalam, the local language is considered to be a very complete language it has 56 alphabets and many more vowels, making every word and accent in the world easily pronounceable to the Malayalee. English is well understood and is taught in schools and colleges.
